Related Product Information for anti-LGMN antibody
Legumain, a 433 amino acid protein with 17 aa signal sequence, is a cystein protease that has a strict specificity for hydrolysis of asparaginyl bonds. This enzyme may be involved in the processing of bacterial peptides and endogenous proteins for MHC class II presentation in the lysosomal/endosomal systems. Enzyme activation is triggered by acidic pH and appears to be autocatalytic. Protein expression occurs after monocytes differentiate into dendritic cells. Overexpression of this gene may be associated with the majority of solid tumor types. This novel asparaginyl endopeptidase has been observed to be highly expressed in several types of tumors including colorectal cancer.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cysteine protease that has a strict specificity for hydrolysis of asparaginyl bonds. A fully mature, active enzyme is produced following lipopolysaccharide expression in mature dendritic cells. Overexpression of this gene may be associated with the majority of solid tumor types. This gene has a pseudogene on chromosome 13. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but the biological validity of only two has been determined. These two variants encode the same isoform. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The LGMN lgmn (Catalog #AAA460341) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Legumain Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Legumain can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: 0.01-0.1 ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-2 ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-1 ug/ml Optimal dilutions should be determined by researchers for the specific applications. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LGMN lgmn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Legumain, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
