Related Product Information for anti-LAPTM4A antibody
LAPTM4A (Lysosomal Protein Transmembrane 4 Alpha) is a Protein Coding gene. This gene encodes a protein that has four predicted transmembrane domains. It belongs to the LAPTM4/LAPTM5 transporter family. Studies in the mouse homolog suggest a role in the transport of small molecules across endosomal and lysosomal membranes. Screening within a mating-based split-ubiquitin-yeast-two-hybrid system (mBSUS) revealed the LAPTM4A as a potential interacting protein. Interaction of LAPTM4A and hOCT2 was confirmed by pulldown assays, FRET microscopy analysis, and immunofluorescence microscopy.LAPTM4A has been identified as an interaction partner of hOCT2. LAPTM4A regulates the function of hOCT2 by influencing its trafficking to/from the cell membrane and processing it via the intracellular sorting machinery.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that has four predicted transmembrane domains. The function of this gene has not yet been determined; however, studies in the mouse homolog suggest a role in the transport of small molecules across endosomal and lysosomal membranes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

May function in the transport of nucleosides and/or nucleoside derivatives between the cytosol and the lumen of an intracellular membrane-bound compartment.

Product Notes

The LAPTM4A laptm4a (Catalog #AAA8102743) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-LAPTM4A Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human, Rat Predicted to React with: Mouse, Cynomolgus (Species predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LAPTM4A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). IHC-P: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LAPTM4A laptm4a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LAPTM4A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
