Uniprot Description
KRT74: Has a role in hair formation. Specific component of keratin intermediate filaments in the inner root sheath (IRS) of the hair follicle (Probable). Defects in KRT74 are a cause of woolly hair autosomal dominant (ADWH). A hair shaft disorder characterized by fine and tightly curled hair. Compared to normal curly hair that is observed in some populations, woolly hair grows slowly and stops growing after a few inches. Under light microscopy, woolly hair shows some structural anomalies, including trichorrhexis nodosa and tapered ends. Defects in KRT74 are the cause of hypotrichosis type 3 (HYPT3). A condition characterized by the presence of less than the normal amount of hair. Affected individuals have normal hair in early childhood but experience progressive hair loss limited to the scalp beginning in the middle of the first decade and almost complete baldness by the third decade. Body hair, beard, eyebrows, axillary hair, teeth, and nails develop normally. Belongs to the intermediate filament family.

Product Notes
The KRT74 krt74 (Catalog #AAA3217167) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KRT74 Antibody - C-terminal region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KRT74 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KRT74 krt74 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: HPSSAGVDLG ASAVAGSSGS TQSGQTKTTE ARGGDLKDTQ GKSTPASIPA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KRT74, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
