Rabbit K6PP Polyclonal Antibody | anti-K6PP antibody
K6PP Antibody
Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from various samples, using K6PP Antibody. Lane 1: mouse brain treated with blocking peptide; Lane 2: mouse brain; Lane 3: rat brain; )
Immunofluorescene (IF)
(MBS9604696 staining A549 cells by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) antibody, diluted at 1/600, was used as secondary antibody.)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from COS-7 cells using K6PP antibody. The lane on the left is treated with the antigen-specific peptide.)
Subunit Structure: Homo-and heterotetramers (By similarity). Phosphofructokinase (PFK) enzyme functions as a tetramer composed of different combinations of 3 types of subunits, called PFKM (where M stands for Muscle), PFKL (Liver) and PFKP (Platelet). The composition of the PFK tetramer differs according to the tissue type it is present in. In muscles, it is composed of 4 PFKM subunits (also called M4). In the liver, the predominant form is a tetramer of PFKL subunits (L4). In erythrocytes, both PFKM and PFKL subunits randomly tetramerize to form M4, L4 and other combinations (ML3, M2L2, M3L). In platelets, brain and fibroblasts, PFK contains a higher proportion of PFKP subunits. The kinetic and regulatory properties of the tetrameric enzyme are dependent on the subunit composition, hence can vary across tissues (Probable).
Post-translational Modifications: GlcNAcylation decreases enzyme activity.
Similarity: Belongs to the phosphofructokinase type A (PFKA) family. ATP-dependent PFK group I subfamily. Eukaryotic two domain clade "E" sub-subfamily.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted: 86 kDa
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the phosphofructokinase A protein family. The encoded enzyme is the platelet-specific isoform of phosphofructokinase and plays a key role in glycolysis regulation. This gene may play a role in metabolic reprogramming in some cancers, including clear cell renal cell carcinomas, and cancer of the bladder, breast, and lung. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Uniprot Description
Catalyzes the phosphorylation of D-fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate by ATP, the first committing step of glycolysis.

Product Notes
The K6PP pfkp (Catalog #AAA9604696) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The K6PP Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's K6PP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:1000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the K6PP pfkp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "K6PP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
