Related Product Information for anti-IFN-gamma antibody
Interferon gamma is the only member of the type II interferon family of cytokines. In mammals, it binds to receptors on macrophages, activating them and inducing MHC class II expression. It is produced by Natural Killer Cell and both CD4+ Th1 and CD8+ T cells. In mammals it is also able to inhibit viral replication.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the type II interferon family. The protein encoded is a soluble cytokine with antiviral, immunoregulatory and anti-tumor properties and is a potent activator of macrophages. Mutations in this gene are associated with aplastic anemia.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

IFNG: Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons. Homodimer. Released primarily from activated T lymphocytes. Belongs to the type II (or gamma) interferon family.

Product Notes

The IFN-gamma ifng (Catalog #AAA524218) is an Antibody produced from Chicken and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Rainbow Trout Interferon Gamma (IFN-gamma), Affinity Purified, (Polyclonal) (Chicken IgY) reacts with Rainbow Trout and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Interferon Gamma can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). This antibody is suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot at minimum working dilutions of 1:8K - 1:16K and 1:3K respectively. This antibody has not been tested in other applications. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFN-gamma ifng for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interferon Gamma, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
