Related Product Information for anti-ITPR1 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor type 1(ITPR1) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Human;Mouse;Rat.
Background: Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor type 1, also known as IP3R or IP3R1, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ITPR1 gene. It is mapped to 3p26.1. The product of the ITPR1 gene is predominantly enriched in cerebellar Purkinje cells but is also concentrated in neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region, caudate-putamen, and cerebral cortex. The ITPR1 gene encodes the inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate(IP3) receptor, an intracellular IP3-gated calcium channel that modulates intracellular calcium signaling. Upon stimulation by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate, this receptor mediates calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum. Mutations in ITPR1 cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 15, a disease associated with an heterogeneous group of cerebellar disorders.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an intracellular receptor for inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate. Upon stimulation by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate, this receptor mediates calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum. Mutations in this gene cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 15, a disease associated with an heterogeneous group of cerebellar disorders. Multiple transcript variants have been identified for this gene. Uniprot Description

IP3R1: a multi-pass endoplasmic reticulum membrane receptor for inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate, a second messenger that mediates the release of intracellular calcium. Plays a role in ER stress-induced apoptosis. Cytoplasmic calcium released from the ER triggers apoptosis by the activation of CaMKII, eventually leading to the activation of downstream apoptosis pathways. Part of a cGMP kinase signaling complex that includes alpha-actin, calponin H1, phospholamban, PKG1 and IP3R1. Widely expressed. The receptor contains a calcium channel in its C-terminal extremity. Its large N-terminal cytoplasmic region has the ligand-binding site in the N-terminus and modulatory sites in the middle portion immediately upstream of the channel region. Phosphorylation by PKA prevents the ligand-induced opening of the calcium channels. Belongs to the ryanodine-inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate receptor ca(2+) channel (rir-cac) family. Eight alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

The Anti-IP3 receptor Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor type 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P). Western Blot: Concentration: 0.1-0.5mug/ml; Tested Species: Human, Rat Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Section): Concentration: 0.5-1mug/ml; Tested Species: Human, Mouse, Rat. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITPR1 itpr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor type 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
