Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. MyBioSource recommends that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended. NB: For functional studies do not add azide.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse IL-4
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to mouse IL-4 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Mouse
Preparation and Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at 4 degree C. Following reconstitution store at -20 degree C. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 12 months from date of reconstitution.
Related Product Information for anti-Il4 antibody
Rabbit anti Mouse Interleukin-4 antibody recognizes mouse interleukin-4 (IL-4), also known as B-cell stimulatory factor 1, a 120 amino acid pleiotropic cytokine cleaved from a 140 amino acid precursor which interacts with multiple cell lineages, including T cells, fibroblasts and macrophages (Crawford et al. 1987). Interleukin-4 is one of the most important factors involved in B cell IgG1 and IgE class switching (Winter et al. 1987). IL-4 acts as a regulator of low affinity Fc receptor for IgE (CD23) expression on both lymphocytes and monocytes (Miyajima et al. 1991, Hudak et al. 1987). IL-4 acts through binding to it's cognate receptor CD124, a receptor which also binds the related cytokine IL-13. Interleukin -4 plays an important role in the alternative activation of murine macrophages as indicated by the ability to potently up-regulate the expression and activity of CD206, the macrophage mannose receptor (Stein et al. 1992).

Uniprot Description

IL4: Participates in at least several B-cell activation processes as well as of other cell types. It is a costimulator of DNA-synthesis. It induces the expression of class II MHC molecules on resting B-cells. It enhances both secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1. It also regulates the expression of the low affinity Fc receptor for IgE (CD23) on both lymphocytes and monocytes. Genetic variations in IL4 may be a cause of susceptibility to ischemic stroke (ISCHSTR); also known as cerebrovascular accident or cerebral infarction. A stroke is an acute neurologic event leading to death of neural tissue of the brain and resulting in loss of motor, sensory and/or cognitive function. Ischemic strokes, resulting from vascular occlusion, is considered to be a highly complex disease consisting of a group of heterogeneous disorders with multiple genetic and environmental risk factors. Belongs to the IL-4/IL-13 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Il4 il4 (Catalog #AAA221266) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's IL-4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Maximum Dilution: 0.5ug/ml; Functional Assays: Minimum Dilution: 0.25ug/ml; Maximum Dilution: 0.40ug/ml; Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.1ug/ml; Maximum Dilution: 0.2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Il4 il4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
