Related Product Information for anti-HspB1; Heat shock protein 25 antibody
In response to adverse changes in their environment, cells from many organisms increase expression of a class of proteins referred to as heat shock or stress proteins. Hsp25 is the mouse homologue of the human Hsp27 protein, a member of the small heat shock protein family comprised of a diverse group of proteins from ~15 to >30 kDa. Studies on estrogen-induced proteins in breast cancer cells suggest a direct relationship between elevated stress protein expression and neoplasia. Hsp27 exhibits rapid increased phosphorylation in response to various mitogens, tumor promoters (e.g., phorbol esters) and calcium ionophores1 and elevated levels of Hsp27 correlate with endometrial adenocarcinomas. Interestingly, the regulation of human Hsp27 by estrogens and heat shock resembles the ecdysteroid and heat shock activation of the drosophila Hsp20 genes. This antibody reacts with both the phosphorylated and the non-phosphorylated forms of Hsp25.

Uniprot Description

HSP27: a small heat shock protein that is regulated both transcriptionally and posttranslationally. Modulates actin polymerization and reorganization. Its expression level increases several-fold in response to stress and is phosphorylated by MAPKAP kinase 2. Cytoplasmic in interphase cells. Colocalizes with mitotic spindles in mitotic cells. Translocates to the nucleus during heat shock.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Chaperone; Heat shock protein

Cellular Component: axon; contractile fiber; cytoplasm; cytoskeleton; dendrite; extracellular space; focal adhesion; I band; intracellular; M band; nucleus; perikaryon; plasma membrane; proteasome complex; synapse; Z disc

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein kinase binding; protein kinase C binding; protein kinase C inhibitor activity; ubiquitin binding

Product Notes

The HspB1; Heat shock protein 25 hspb1 (Catalog #AAA565301) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HSP25 polyclonal antibody (PE conjugate) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine, Dog, Gerbil, Guinea pig, Hamster, Porcine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HSP25 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Flow Cytometry (1:100) Suggested dilutions/conditions may not be available for all applications. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HspB1; Heat shock protein 25 hspb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HSP25, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
