Related Product Information for anti-SETD1A antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for hSET1/SET1/SETD1A detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P, IF, Direct ELISA in Human; Mouse; Rat.

Background: Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SETD1A is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the SETD1A gene. It is mapped to 16p11.2. The protein encoded by this gene is a component of a histone methyltransferase (HMT) complex that produces mono-, di-, and trimethylated histone H3 at Lys4. Trimethylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4me3) is a chromatin modification known to generally mark the transcription start sites of active genes. The protein contains SET domains, a RNA recognition motif domain and is a member of the class V-like SAM-binding methyltransferase superfamily.

NCBI Description

Uniprot Description

SETD1A: Histone methyltransferase that specifically methylates 'Lys-4' of histone H3, when part of the SET1 histone methyltransferase (HMT) complex, but not if the neighboring 'Lys- 9' residue is already methylated. H3 'Lys-4' methylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation. The non-overalpping localization with SETD1B suggests that SETD1A and SETD1B make non-redundant contributions to the epigenetic control of chromatin structure and gene expression.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - lysine degradation; EC 2.1.1.43; Methyltransferase; Methyltransferase, protein lysine

Product Notes

The SETD1A setd1a (Catalog #AAA1753091) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-hSET1/SET1/SETD1A Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's hSET1/SET1/SETD1A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunofluorescence (IF), Direct ELISA (EIA). WB: 0.25-0.5ug/ml (Human) IHC-P (Embedded Section): 0.5-1ug/ml (Human, Mouse, Rat) IF: 2ug/ml (Human) Direct ELISA: 0.1-0.5ug/ml (Human) Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SETD1A setd1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "hSET1/SET1/SETD1A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
