NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the hepatoma-derived growth factor family. The encoded protein has mitogenic and DNA-binding activity and may play a role in cellular proliferation and differentiation. This gene was thought initially to be located on chromosome X, however, that location has been determined to correspond to a related pseudogene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

HDGF: Heparin-binding protein, with mitogenic activity for fibroblasts. Acts as a transcriptional repressor. Belongs to the HDGF family.

Product Notes

The HDGF hdgf (Catalog #AAA6420228) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Hepatoma Derived Growth Factor (HDGF, HMG1L2) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Hepatoma Derived Growth Factor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IF: 1:50-1:200 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HDGF hdgf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hepatoma Derived Growth Factor, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
