Related Product Information for anti-HSPA8 antibody
The 70kD heat shock proteins (HSP70s) are a highly conserved family of stress response proteins. The HSP70 family of proteins contains both heat/stress inducible and constitutively expressed members known as heat shock cognate proteins. Heat Shock 70 kD Protein 8 (HSPA8), also known as Heat Shock Cognate Protein 71 (HSC71), HSC70, HSP73, HSPA10 and LPS-associated protein 1 (LAP1), is a 646 amino acid (aa) heat shock cognate protein. Many HSPs function as molecular chaperones, facilitating the folding of other cellular proteins. HSPA8 plays an important role in cells by transiently associating with nascent polypeptides to facilitate correct folding. HSPA8 is a ubiquitously expressed protein and rapidly translocates from the cytoplasm to the nucleus in response to heat shock. Two alternatively spliced variants have been identified. This antibody detects isoform 1 but not isoform 2 (HSC54). Human HSPA8 shares greater than 99 % identity with mouse and rat HSPA8.

NCBI Description

The product encoded by this gene belongs to the heat shock protein 70 family which contains both heat-inducible and constitutively expressed members. The latter are called heat-shock cognate proteins. This gene encodes a heat-shock cognate protein. This protein binds to nascent polypeptides to facilitate correct folding. It also functions as an ATPase in the disassembly of clathrin-coated vesicles during transport of membrane components through the cell. Two alternatively spliced variants have been characterized to date. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

HSC70: Acts as a repressor of transcriptional activation. Inhibits the transcriptional coactivator activity of CITED1 on Smad-mediated transcription. Chaperone. Isoform 2 may function as an endogenous inhibitory regulator of HSC70 by competing the co- chaperones. Interacts with HSPH1/HSP105. Interacts with IRAK1BP1. Identified in a mRNP granule complex, at least composed of ACTB, ACTN4, DHX9, ERG, HNRNPA1, HNRNPA2B1, HNRNPAB, HNRNPD, HNRNPL, HNRNPR, HNRNPU, HSPA1, HSPA8, IGF2BP1, ILF2, ILF3, NCBP1, NCL, PABPC1, PABPC4, PABPN1, RPLP0, RPS3, RPS3A, RPS4X, RPS8, RPS9, SYNCRIP, TROVE2, YBX1 and untranslated mRNAs. Interacts with PACRG and TSC2. Interacts with BAG1. Interacts with SV40 VP1. Interacts with DNAJC7. Interacts with HERC5. Interacts with CITED1 (via N-terminus); the interaction suppresses the association of CITED1 to p300/CBP and Smad-mediated transcription transactivation. Constitutively synthesized. Ubiquitous. Belongs to the heat shock protein 70 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The HSPA8 (Catalog #AAA615457) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Heat Shock Cognate Protein 71 (HSC71, HSPA8) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Heat Shock Cognate Protein 71 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: An antibody concentration of 1.0ug/ml is recommended., Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HSPA8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Heat Shock Cognate Protein 71, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
