HAS3 Antibody, Hyaluronan synthase 3 Antibody, Hyaluronate synthase 3 Antibody, HA synthase 3 Antibody, Hyaluronic acid synthase 3 Antibody Description: Catalyzes the addition of GlcNAc or GlcUA monosaccharides to the nascent hyaluronan polymer. Therefore, it is essential to hyaluronan synthesis a major component of most extracellular matrices that has a structural role in tissues architectures and regulates cell adhesion, migration and differentiation. This is one of the isozymes catalyzing that reaction.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the synthesis of the unbranched glycosaminoglycan hyaluronan, or hyaluronic acid, which is a major constituent of the extracellular matrix. This gene is a member of the NODC/HAS gene family. Compared to the proteins encoded by other members of this gene family, this protein appears to be more of a regulator of hyaluronan synthesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Uniprot Description

HAS3: Plays a role in hyaluronan/hyaluronic acid (HA) synthesis. Belongs to the NodC/HAS family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transferase; Membrane protein, multi-pass; EC 2.4.1.212; Membrane protein, integral; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q22.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; integral to membrane; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: hyaluronan synthase activity

Biological Process: carbohydrate metabolic process; cell adhesion; extracellular polysaccharide biosynthetic process; glycosaminoglycan metabolic process; hyaluronan biosynthetic process; hyaluronan metabolic process; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The HAS3 has3 (Catalog #AAA249552) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-HAS3 Antibody (aa136-164) IHC-plus reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HAS3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (1:100) WB (1:1000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HAS3 has3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HAS3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
