Related Product Information for anti-Grm1 antibody
The Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor mGluR1 binds L-glutamate, the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, which activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. Glutamatergic neurotransmission is involved in most aspects of normal brain function and can be perturbed in many neuropathologic conditions. mGluR1 and mGluR5 are group I receptors that have been shown to activate phospholipase C. Alternative splice variants of the mGluR1 gene have been described, but their full-length nature has not been determined. Inflammation results in the activation of mGluR1 and mGluR5 in dorsal horn neurons of the spinal cord, leading to extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) activation, which is required for nociceptive plasticity and enhanced pain.

Uniprot Description

mGluR1: Receptor for glutamate. The activity of this receptor is mediated by a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol- calcium second messenger system. May participate in the central action of glutamate in the CNS, such as long-term potentiation in the hippocampus and long-term depression in the cerebellum. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. The PPXXF motif binds HOMER1, HOMER2 and HOMER3. Interacts with SIAH1, RYR1, RYR2, ITPR1, SHANK1, SHANK3 and GRASP. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 3 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Grm1 grm1 (Catalog #AAA642970) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GRM1, CT (Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor 1, mGluR1, GPRC1A, MGLUR1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GRM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 20ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Grm1 grm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRM1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
