Goat GRIK5/KA2 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-GRIK5 antibody
Goat anti-GRIK5/KA2 Antibody
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx.26kDa band in Human Brain (Frontal Cortex and Hippocampus) lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we can not find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 109kDa according to NP_002079.3. The 26kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the glutamate-gated ionic channel family. Glutamate functions as the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system through activation of ligand-gated ion channels and G protein-coupled membrane receptors. The protein encoded by this gene forms functional heteromeric kainate-preferring ionic channels with the subunits encoded by related gene family members. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Uniprot Description
GluR KA2: Receptor for glutamate. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. The postsynaptic actions of Glu are mediated by a variety of receptors that are named according to their selective agonists. This receptor binds kainate > quisqualate > domoate > L- glutamate >> AMPA >> NMDA = 1S,3R-ACPD. Belongs to the glutamate-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.10.1) family. GRIK5 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The GRIK5 grik5 (Catalog #AAA422148) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-GRIK5/KA2 Antibody reacts with Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Rat, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GRIK5/KA2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GRIK5 grik5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: GPAGPRELAE HE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRIK5/KA2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
