NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The product of this gene belongs to a small family of adapter proteins that are known to interact with a number of receptor tyrosine kinases and signaling molecules. This gene encodes a growth factor receptor-binding protein that interacts with insulin receptors and insulin-like growth-factor receptors. This protein likely has an inhibitory effect on receptor tyrosine kinase signaling and, in particular, on insulin receptor signaling. This gene may play a role in signaling pathways that regulate growth and metabolism. Transcript variants have been reported for this gene, but their full-length natures have not been determined to date. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
GRB14: Adapter protein which modulates coupling of cell surface receptor kinases with specific signaling pathways. Binds to, and suppresses signals from, the activated insulin receptor (INSR). Potent inhibitor of insulin-stimulated MAPK3 phosphorylation. Plays a critical role regulating PDPK1 membrane translocation in response to insulin stimulation and serves as an adapter protein to recruit PDPK1 to activated insulin receptor, thus promoting PKB/AKT1 phosphorylation and transduction of the insulin signal. Belongs to the GRB7/10/14 family.
Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q22-q24
Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; endosome membrane; cytosol
Molecular Function: SH3/SH2 adaptor activity
Biological Process: positive regulation of signal transduction; blood coagulation; signal transduction; leukocyte migration

Product Notes
The GRB14 grb14 (Catalog #AAA7123750) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GRB14 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GRB14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:1000-1:2000 WB: 1:200-1:1000 IHC: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GRB14 grb14 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRB14, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
