Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for GITR/Tnfrsf18 detection. Tested with WB, Direct ELISA in Mouse; Rat.

Background: Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 18 (TNFRSF18) also known as activation-inducible TNFR family receptor (AITR) or glucocorticoid-induced TNFR-related protein (GITR) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TNFRSF18 gene. It is mapped to 4; 4 E2. This gene encodes a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. The encoded receptor has been shown to have increased expression upon T-cell activation, and it is thought to play a key role in dominant immunological self-tolerance maintained by CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells. Knockout studies in mice also suggest the role of this receptor is in the regulation of CD3-driven T-cell activation and programmed cell death. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

Uniprot Description

TNFRSF18: Receptor for TNFSF18. Seems to be involved in interactions between activated T-lymphocytes and endothelial cells and in the regulation of T-cell receptor-mediated cell death. Mediated NF-kappa-B activation via the TRAF2/NIK pathway. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Receptor, cytokine; Apoptosis

Cellular Component: membrane; integral to plasma membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Product Notes

The Tnfrsf18 tnfrsf18 (Catalog #AAA1753067) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GITR/Tnfrsf18 Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GITR/Tnfrsf18 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Direct ELISA (EIA). WB: 0.25-0.5ug/ml (Mouse, Rat) Direct ELISA: 0.1-0.5ug/ml (Mouse) Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Tnfrsf18 tnfrsf18 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GITR/Tnfrsf18, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
