NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the GATA family of zinc-finger transcription factors. Members of this family recognize the GATA motif which is present in the promoters of many genes. This protein is thought to regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and in myocardial differentiation and function. Mutations in this gene have been associated with cardiac septal defects. Uniprot Description

GATA4: a conserved and ubiquitous member of the GATA family of zinc-finger transcription factors. Members of this family recognize the GATA motif which is present in the promoters of many genes. This protein is thought to regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and in myocardial differentiation and function. May regulate a set of cardiac-specific genes and play a crucial role in cardiogenesis. Defects are a cause of atrial septal defect 2 (ASD2). ASD2 is an autosomal dominant condition with atrial septal defect and other congenital heart disease but no conduction defects or noncardiac abnormalities.

Product Notes

The GATA4 gata4 (Catalog #AAA613444) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GATA4 (GATA Binding Factor 4, GATA Binding Protein 4) reacts with Human, Rodent and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GATA4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA (titer): 1:200,000. Immunohistochemistry: 5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GATA4 gata4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GATA4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
