Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human brain tissue reacted with MBS6009540, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of MBS6009540 for immunohistochemistry)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2, a member of the GalNAc-transferases family. This family transfers an N-acetyl galactosamine to the hydroxyl group of a serine or threonine residue in the first step of O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis. Individual GalNAc-transferases have distinct activities and initiation of O-glycosylation in a cell is regulated by a repertoire of GalNAc-transferases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
GALNT2: an enzyme that catalyzes the initial reaction in O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis, the transfer of an N-acetyl-D-galactosamine residue to a serine or threonine residue on the protein receptor. A single-pass type II membrane protein that localizes to the Golgi apparatus membrane. Has a broad spectrum of substrates for peptides such as EA2, Muc5AC, Muc1a, Muc1b.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Transferase; Glycan Metabolism - O-glycan biosynthesis; EC 2.4.1.41
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q41-q42
Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; Golgi apparatus; Golgi stack; membrane; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; integral to Golgi membrane
Molecular Function: polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase activity; manganese ion binding; carbohydrate binding

Product Notes
The GALNT2 galnt2 (Catalog #AAA6009540) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GALNT2, NT (GALNT2, Polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2, Polypeptide GalNAc transferase 2, Protein-UDP acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2, UDP-GalNAc:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2, Polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GALNT2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100 Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GALNT2 galnt2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GALNT2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
