Related Product Information for anti-EFNB1 antibody
Ehrin-B1, also known as EFNB1, a member of the ephrin gene family, is important in brain development as well as in its maintenance. It favors dendritogenesis of granule neurons during cerebellum development. This protein is highly expressed in several forebrain subregions compared to other brain subregions, it may play a pivotal role in forebrain function. The EPH and EPH-related receptors comprise the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and have been implicated in mediating developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. The ephrin ligands and receptors have been divided into two major subclasses: Ephrin-A and ephrin-B.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein and a ligand of Eph-related receptor tyrosine kinases. It may play a role in cell adhesion and function in the development or maintenance of the nervous system. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

EFNB1: a type I membrane protein of the ephrin family. A ligand of Eph-related receptor tyrosine kinases EphB1 and EphA1. Ephrins and ephrin receptors mediate numerous developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system. Ephrin-B1 may play a role in cell adhesion and functions in the development or maintenance of the nervous system. Binding to its receptor induces the collapse of commissural axons/growth cones in vitro. Induced by TNF-alpha. Expressed in brain, heart, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, and pancreas.

Protein type: Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq13.1

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; synapse

Molecular Function: ephrin receptor binding; protein binding

Biological Process: axon guidance; cell adhesion; cell-cell signaling; ephrin receptor signaling pathway

Disease: Craniofrontonasal Syndrome

Product Notes

The EFNB1 efnb1 (Catalog #AAA460107) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Ephrin B1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ephrin B1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: 0.01-0.1 ug/ml Flow Cytometry: 5-10 ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 2-10 ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-1 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EFNB1 efnb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ephrin B1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
