Related Product Information for anti-Epha6 antibody
Protein kinases are enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from a phosphate donor, generally the g phosphate of ATP, onto an acceptor amino acid in a substrate protein. By this basic mechanism, protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. With more than 500 gene products, the protein kinase family is one of the largest families of proteins in eukaryotes. The family has been classified in 8 major groups based on sequence comparison of their tyrosine (PTK) or serine/threonine (STK) kinase catalytic domains. The tyrosine kinase (TK) group is mainly involved in the regulation of cell-cell interactions such as differentiation, adhesion, motility and death. There are currently about 90 TK genes sequenced, 58 are of receptor protein TK (e.g. EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, and VEGFR families), and 32 of cytosolic TK (e.g. ABL, FAK, JAK, and SRC families).

Uniprot Description

EphA6: Receptor tyrosine kinase which binds promiscuously GPI- anchored ephrin-A family ligands residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Tyr protein kinase family. Ephrin receptor subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, tyrosine (receptor); Protein kinase, TK; Membrane protein, integral; EC 2.7.10.1; TK group; Eph family

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; membrane; integral to plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: transferase activity; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups; ephrin receptor activity; nucleotide binding; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity; kinase activity; ATP binding; protein kinase activity

Product Notes

The Epha6 epha6 (Catalog #AAA9211876) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1006-1035. The Eph Receptor A6 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human, mouse (Predicted Reactivity: Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Eph Receptor A6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P) Western Blot (WB). WB~~1:1000 IHC-P~~1:50~100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Epha6 epha6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Eph Receptor A6, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
