NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The expression of DUSP1 gene is induced in human skin fibroblasts by oxidative/heat stress and growth factors. It specifies a protein with structural features similar to members of the non-receptor-type protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, and which has significant amino-acid sequence similarity to a Tyr/Ser-protein phosphatase encoded by the late gene H1 of vaccinia virus. The bacterially expressed and purified DUSP1 protein has intrinsic phosphatase activity, and specifically inactivates mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase in vitro by the concomitant dephosphorylation of both its phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues. Furthermore, it suppresses the activation of MAP kinase by oncogenic ras in extracts of Xenopus oocytes. Thus, DUSP1 may play an important role in the human cellular response to environmental stress as well as in the negative regulation of cellular proliferation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
MKP-1: a non-receptor, dual-specificity phosphoprotein phosphatase (DUSP). Different members of the DUSP family show distinct substrate specificities for MAPKs, different tissue distribution and subcellular localization, and different modes of inducibility of their expression by extracellular stimuli. DUSP1 specifically inactivates mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase in vitro by the concomitant dephosphorylation. It is induced in human skin fibroblasts by oxidative/heat stress and growth factors. Contains 1 rhodanese domain.

Product Notes
The DUSP1 dusp1 (Catalog #AAA641390) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DUSP1, CT (Dual Specificity Protein Phosphatase 1, CL100, Dual Specificity Protein Phosphatase hVH1, HVH1, Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Phosphatase 1, MAP Kinase Phosphatase 1, MKP1, MKP-1, Protein-tyrosine Phosphatase CL100, PTPN10, VH1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DUSP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded): 3.75ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DUSP1 dusp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DUSP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
