Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA.
Dilution: Western Blot (Chemiluminescence): 1-10ug/ml Detects 2 bands of 50 and 75kD in solubilized hippocampal membranes. The 75kD band was not visible in striatum. ~100-400ug of protein/lane should be loaded to visualize the 75kD band that is present in relatively small amounts.
ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml using 1ug/ml of control peptide per well
Immunohistochemistry: 2-10ug/ml on paraformaldehyde fixed tissue sections. D1R has been localized in various regions of the rat brain.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to 9aa from the 4th extracellular domain of rat D1a receptor. Species Sequence Homology: mouse; 100%, human; 88%, porcine; 77%
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the D1 subtype of the dopamine receptor. The D1 subtype is the most abundant dopamine receptor in the central nervous system. This G-protein coupled receptor stimulates adenylyl cyclase and activates cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinases. D1 receptors regulate neuronal growth and development, mediate some behavioral responses, and modulate dopamine receptor D2-mediated events. Alternate transcription initiation sites result in two transcript variants of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DRD1: a G-protein coupled receptor. One of the five types (D1 to D5) of receptors for dopamine. The most abundant dopamine receptor in the central nervous system. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. Interacts with calcyon.

Product Notes

The DRD1 drd1 (Catalog #AAA629337) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Dopamine Receptor, D1a reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Dopamine Receptor, D1a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml using 1ug/ml of control peptide per well Immunohistochemistry: 2-10ug/ml on paraformaldehyde fixed tissue sections. D1R has been localized in various regions of the rat brain. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DRD1 drd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dopamine Receptor, D1a, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
