Related Product Information for anti-DOCK2 antibody
DOCK2 (Dedicator of cytokinesis protein 2) is a member of the DOCK-A family, DOCK180 superfamily of proteins. Its predicted molecular weight is 210kD, although it may run approximately at 190kD in SDS-PAGE. It is found in hematopoietic cell types, and regulates the activity of the GTPases Rac-1 and -2. Human DOCK2 is 1830aa in length. It contains one SH3 domain (aa8-69), a DHR-1 region that localizes DOCK2 to the plasma membrane (aa420-662), and a DHR-2 domain that binds to nucleotide-free GTPases and shows GEF activity (aa1115-1621). There are two isoform variants, one that shows a 38aa substitution for Tyr1405, and a second that shows a start site at Met450 with accompanying deletions of aa462-494 and 630-766, and a 22aa substitution for aa934-1830. Over aa420-642, human DOCK2 shares 96% aa identity to mouse DOCK2.

NCBI Description

The DOCK2 gene encodes a hematopoietic cell-specific CDM family protein that is indispensable for lymphocyte chemotaxis.[supplied by OMIM]

Uniprot Description

DOCK2: a hematopoietic cell-specific CDM family protein that is indispensable for lymphocyte chemotaxis. Plays a role in T cell receptor-induced activation of Rac2 and IL-2 transcription. Interacts with RAC, CRKL, and CD3-zeta. Association with ELMO1 is critical for DOCK2-mediated Rac activation. Two alternatively-spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; GAPs; GAPs, Rac/Rho; Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q35.1

Cellular Component: cytoskeleton; membrane; endomembrane system; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; Rac guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity; T cell receptor binding

Biological Process: alpha-beta T cell proliferation; viral reproduction; formation of immunological synapse; myeloid dendritic cell activation during immune response; small GTPase mediated signal transduction; positive regulation of phagocytosis; establishment of T cell polarity; lipid raft polarization; chemotaxis; actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; negative thymic T cell selection; regulation of defense response to virus by virus; positive thymic T cell selection

Product Notes

The DOCK2 dock2 (Catalog #AAA626794) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DOCK2 (Dedicator of Cytokinesis Protein 2, KIAA0209) reacts with Goat, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DOCK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot:1g/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DOCK2 dock2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DOCK2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
