Biological Significance
A novel gene, differentially expressed nucleolar TGF-beta1 target (DENTT), is expressed in several normal human tissues, with the highest level of expression in brain. It is involved in TGF-beta1-mediated responses and has distinct domains for direction to different subnuclear locations.
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen
DENTT antibody was raised in rabbit using residues 489-503 [NNETTDNNESADDHE] of the human DENTT protein as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the testis-specific protein Y-encoded, TSPY-like/SET/nucleosome assembly protein-1 superfamily. The encoded protein is localized to the nucleolus where it functions in chromatin remodeling and as an inhibitor of cell-cycle progression. This protein may play a role in the suppression of tumor growth. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

TSPYL2: Part of the CASK/TRB1/TSPYL2 transcriptional complex which modulates gene expression in response to neuronal synaptic activity, probably by facilitating nucleosome assembly. May inhibit cell proliferation by inducing p53-dependent CDKN1A expression. Belongs to the nucleosome assembly protein (NAP) family.

Protein type: DNA replication; Transcription regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp11.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; centrosome; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; nucleolus; nucleus

Molecular Function: rDNA binding

Biological Process: transcription, DNA-dependent; unfolded protein response; regulation of signal transduction; chromatin modification; cell cycle; negative regulation of cell cycle; nucleosome assembly; unfolded protein response, activation of signaling protein activity; cellular protein metabolic process; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of DNA replication; negative regulation of cell growth; regulation of protein kinase activity

Product Notes

The DENTT (Catalog #AAA536014) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DENTT antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DENTT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:1,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DENTT for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DENTT, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
