Preparation and Storage
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Note: As fluorescence can photobleach when exposed to light, so the antibody must be protected from light.

NCBI Description

Defensins form a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. This gene encodes defensin, beta 1, an antimicrobial peptide implicated in the resistance of epithelial surfaces to microbial colonization. This gene maps in close proximity to defensin family member, defensin, alpha 1 and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The DEFb1 defb1 (Catalog #AAA2016453) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FITC-linked Antibody to Defensin Beta 1 (DEFb1) reacts with Pig and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Defensin Beta 1 (DEFb1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB; ICC; IHC-P; IHC-F; ELISA, Flow Cyt. Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 5-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 5-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 5-20ug/ml Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 0.05-2ug/ml Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DEFb1 defb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Defensin Beta 1 (DEFb1), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
