Related Product Information for PRIMA-1 biochemical
Background: A small molecule that restores tumor suppressor function to mutant p53 proteins. PRIMA-1 acts as an inducer of apoptosis and inhibitor of growth of human tumors with mutant p53. PRIMA-1 restores sequence-specific DNA binding and transactivational activity to mutant p53 proteins at relatively high uM to mM concentrations.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene functions to organize acetylcholinesterase (AChE) into tetramers, and to anchor AChE at neural cell membranes. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2008]

Uniprot Description

PRIMA1: Required to anchor acetylcholinesterase (ACHE) to the basal lamina of the neuromuscular junction and to the membrane of neuronal synapses in brain. Also able to organize ACHE into tetramers. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Adaptor/scaffold; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32.12

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; synapse; cell junction; intrinsic to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: enzyme binding; protein anchor

Biological Process: neurotransmitter catabolic process; establishment of cellular localization

Product Notes

The PRIMA-1 prima1 (Catalog #AAA842987) is a Biochemical and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PRIMA-1, Biochemical" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
