Related Product Information for anti-DAPK1 antibody
DAPK1, a DAPK type protein kinase, is a positive mediator of gamma-interferon induced programmed cell death. It is believed to function in an early apoptotic checkpoint designed to eliminate premalignant cells from cancer development. The DAPK1 protein contains eight ankyrin repeats and two putative P-loop consensus sites. Loss of DAPK1 expression has been associated with invasive tumors.

NCBI Description

Death-associated protein kinase 1 is a positive mediator of gamma-interferon induced programmed cell death. DAPK1 encodes a structurally unique 160-kD calmodulin dependent serine-threonine kinase that carries 8 ankyrin repeats and 2 putative P-loop consensus sites. It is a tumor suppressor candidate. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]

Uniprot Description

DAPK1: a CAMK protein kinase of the Death-associated protein kinase (DAPK) family. Mediates autophagy and is a positive mediator of ER stress-induced and gamma-interferon induced programmed cell death. Catalytic activity is increased by ER stress. Inhibited by autophosphorylation of S308. DAPK -/- cells are protected from ER stress-induced cell death, and both apoptosis and autophagy are decreased. Colocalizes with the actin filament system. It is a tumor suppressor candidate, activating p53-dependent apoptosis. Expression is reduced in some cancers, and the promoter is frequently hypermethylated in invasive cancers. Increased expression and mislocalization is seen in epilepsy, where it may regulate neuronal death. A structurally unique serine-threonine kinase that carries eight ankyrin repeats and two putative P-loop consensus sites. Two isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The DAPK1 dapk1 (Catalog #AAA248708) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal (IgG) to Human DAPK1 / DAP Kinase reacts with Dog, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DAPK1 / DAP Kinase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (5 - 10 ug/ml), WB. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DAPK1 dapk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DAPK1 / DAP Kinase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
