Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from SH-SY5Y cells, untreated or treated with AICAR (2mM for 30 minutes), using Phospho-Tuberin/TSC2 (Ser1387) Antibody #MBS6003406 (upper) and Tuberin/TSC2 Rabbit mAb (lower).)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from SH-SY5Y cells, treated with AICAR (2mM for 30 minutes), using Phospho-Tuberin/TSC2 (Ser1387) Antibody #MBS6003406. The phospho-specificity of the antibody was verified by treating the membrane with (+) or without (-) calf intestinal phosphatase (CIP) after western transfer.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Mutations in this gene lead to tuberous sclerosis complex. Its gene product is believed to be a tumor suppressor and is able to stimulate specific GTPases. The protein associates with hamartin in a cytosolic complex, possibly acting as a chaperone for hamartin. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
TSC2: a product of the tumor suppressor gene TSC2. Tuberin and Hamartin (TSC1) form a tumor suppressor heterodimer that inhibits the mTOR nutrient signaling input. TSC1/TSC2 targets the small G protein Rheb, a novel mediator of the nutrient signaling input to mTOR. Functions as a Rheb GTPase activating protein (GAP). Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The TSC2 tsc2 (Catalog #AAA6003406) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Tuberin, phosphorylated (Ser1387) (Tuberous Sclerosis 2 Protein, TSC2, FLJ43106, LAM, TSC4) reacts with Human, Monkey, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Tuberin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4 degree C with gentle shaking, overnight. Immunoprecipitation: 1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TSC2 tsc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tuberin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
