Related Product Information for anti-CYP3A5 antibody
CYP3A5 is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and its expression is induced by glucocorticoids and some pharmacological agents. The enzyme metabolizes drugs such as nifedipine and cyclosporine as well as the steroid hormones testosterone, progesterone and androstenedione.

NCBI Description

This gene,CYP3A5, encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. This gene is part of a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 7q21.1. This cluster includes a pseudogene, CYP3A5P1, which is very similar to CYP3A5. This similarity has caused some difficulty in determining whether cloned sequences represent the gene or the pseudogene. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CYP3A5: Cytochromes P450 are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a variety of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics. Belongs to the cytochrome P450 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Xenobiotic Metabolism - metabolism by cytochrome P450; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - retinol; Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - other enzymes; Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - cytochrome P450; Lipid Metabolism - linoleic acid; EC 1.14.14.1; Oxidoreductase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q21.1

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; intracellular membrane-bound organelle

Molecular Function: iron ion binding; heme binding; oxidoreductase activity; oxygen binding; monooxygenase activity

Biological Process: steroid metabolic process; drug catabolic process; xenobiotic metabolic process; alkaloid catabolic process

Product Notes

The CYP3A5 cyp3a5 (Catalog #AAA624465) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CYP3A5, ID (Cytochrome P450 3A5, CYPIIIA5, Cytochrome P450-PCN3, Cytochrome P450 HLp2) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CYP3A5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CYP3A5 cyp3a5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CYP3A5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
