NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
most abundant member of the p450 xenobiotic-inducible superfamily in non-stimulated liver; metabolizes xenobiotics and testosterone [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
CYP2C9: Cytochromes P450 are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a variety of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics. This enzyme contributes to the wide pharmacokinetics variability of the metabolism of drugs such as S- warfarin, diclofenac, phenytoin, tolbutamide and losartan. Belongs to the cytochrome P450 family.
Protein type: Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - cytochrome P450; Secondary Metabolites Metabolism - limonene and pinene degradation; EC 1.14.14.1; Lipid Metabolism - linoleic acid; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - retinol; Oxidoreductase; Xenobiotic Metabolism - metabolism by cytochrome P450; Lipid Metabolism - arachidonic acid
Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; cytoplasm
Molecular Function: iron ion binding; testosterone 16-alpha-hydroxylase activity; heme binding; oxidoreductase activity, acting on paired donors, with incorporation or reduction of molecular oxygen, reduced flavin or flavoprotein as one donor, and incorporation of one atom of oxygen; arachidonic acid epoxygenase activity; oxygen binding
Biological Process: xenobiotic metabolic process; exogenous drug catabolic process; epoxygenase P450 pathway

Product Notes
The CYP2C11 cyp2c11 (Catalog #AAA534729) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CYP2C11 antibody reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CYP2C11 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CYP2C11 cyp2c11 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CYP2C11, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
