Biological Significance
The glucose oxidase enzyme (GOx) is an oxido-reductase that catalyses the oxidation of glucose to hydrogen peroxide and D-glucono- Delta-lactone. In cells, it aids in breaking the sugar down into its metabolites.
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen
Glucose oxidase antibody was raised in rabbit using glucose oxidase isolated from Aspergillus niger as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution aliquot and freeze at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
