Store product at 4 degree C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable at -20 degree C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Related Product Information for anti-CTBP2 antibody
This gene produces alternative transcripts encoding two distinct proteins. One protein is a transcriptional repressor, while the other isoform is a major component of specialized synapses known as synaptic ribbons. Both proteins contain a NAD+ binding domain similar to NAD+-dependent 2-hydroxyacid dehydrogenases. A portion of the 3' untranslated region was used to map this gene to chromosome 21q21.3; however, it was noted that similar loci elsewhere in the genome are likely. Blast analysis shows that this gene is present on chromosome 10. [provided by RefSeq].

NCBI Description

This gene produces alternative transcripts encoding two distinct proteins. One protein is a transcriptional repressor, while the other isoform is a major component of specialized synapses known as synaptic ribbons. Both proteins contain a NAD+ binding domain similar to NAD+-dependent 2-hydroxyacid dehydrogenases. A portion of the 3' untranslated region was used to map this gene to chromosome 21q21.3; however, it was noted that similar loci elsewhere in the genome are likely. Blast analysis shows that this gene is present on chromosome 10. Several transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]

Uniprot Description

CTBP2: Corepressor targeting diverse transcription regulators. Functions in brown adipose tissue (BAT) differentiation. Belongs to the D-isomer specific 2-hydroxyacid dehydrogenase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q26.13

Cellular Component: transcriptional repressor complex; synapse; cell junction; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; retinoic acid receptor binding; transcription coactivator activity; chromatin binding; NAD binding; transcription corepressor activity; oxidoreductase activity, acting on the CH-OH group of donors, NAD or NADP as acceptor

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; transcription, DNA-dependent; white fat cell differentiation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of retinoic acid receptor signaling pathway; viral genome replication; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The CTBP2 ctbp2 (Catalog #AAA6289686) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CTBP2, NT (CTBP2, C-terminal-binding protein 2) (Azide free) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CTBP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:10-50 ELISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CTBP2 ctbp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CTBP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
