Related Product Information for anti-CSTF2 antibody
CSTF2 is one of three (including CSTF1 and CSTF3) cleavage stimulation factors which combine to form CSTF which is involved in the polyadenylation and 3'end cleavage of pre-mRNAs. CSTF2 contains a ribonucleoprotein-type RNA binding domain. CSTF2 is upregulated during activation of B cells which results in the switch of IgM heavy chain mRNA from membrane bound form to the secreted form.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a nuclear protein with an RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain. The protein is a member of the cleavage stimulation factor (CSTF) complex that is involved in the 3' end cleavage and polyadenylation of pre-mRNAs. Specifically, this protein binds GU-rich elements within the 3'-untranslated region of mRNAs. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CSTF2: One of the multiple factors required for polyadenylation and 3'-end cleavage of mammalian pre-mRNAs. This subunit is directly involved in the binding to pre-mRNAs. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: RNA-binding; RNA splicing

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq22.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; mRNA cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; RNA binding; nucleotide binding

Product Notes

The CSTF2 cstf2 (Catalog #AAA6374940) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CSTF2 (Cleavage Stimulation Factor 64kD Subunit, CSTF 64kD Subunit, CF-1 64kD Subunit, CstF-64,Cleavage Stimulation Factor 2) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CSTF2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CSTF2 cstf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CSTF2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
