NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the metallocarboxypeptidase family. This enzyme displays carboxypeptidase activity towards substrates with basic C-terminal residues. It is most active at neutral pH and is inhibited by active site-directed inhibitors of metallocarboxypeptidases. Alternative splicing in the coding region results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CPZ: Cleaves substrates with C-terminal arginine residues. Probably modulates the Wnt signaling pathway, by cleaving some undefined protein. May play a role in cleavage during prohormone processing. Belongs to the peptidase M14 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.4.17.-; Protease; Secreted; Extracellular matrix; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4p16.1

Cellular Component: proteinaceous extracellular matrix

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; metallocarboxypeptidase activity

Biological Process: Wnt receptor signaling pathway; proteolysis

Product Notes

The CPZ cpz (Catalog #AAA629411) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CPZ, NT (Carboxypeptidase Z) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CPZ can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:50-1:100 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CPZ cpz for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CPZ, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
