Specificity
Polyclonal type IV collagen recognizes the extracellular - basement membranes.
Form/Format
Each vial contains 250ul polyclonal Serum including 0.09% sodium azide
Applicable Applications for anti-Collagen IV antibody
Immunocytochemistry (IHC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (frozen), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (paraffin), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Polyclonal type IV is useful for immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry on fixed cells (methanol fixation) and immunohistochemistry on frozen tissues (fixed in methanol, aceton or 1% paraformaldehyde) when using a PBS buffer containing 0.1 mM CaCl2 and 0.1 mM MgCl2. For immunohistochemistry on paraffin tissue the sections should be pretreated with 1 mg/ml pepsin in 0.01 N HCl for 30 minutes at room tempeRature. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titRation; 1:25 - 1:100 for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:100 - 1:1000 for immunoblotting appliCations.
Source Note
This polyclonal type IV collagen antibody is a Rabbit polyclonal antibody. The Rabbits were immunized with isolated Human type IV collagen. The immunogen has been isolated from Human placenta.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C, or in small aliquots for prolonged storage at -20 degree C.

Related Product Information for anti-Collagen IV antibody
The extent of expression of the basement membrane component type IV collagen may be correlated with the degree of differentiation of basement membrane producing neoplasma. Neoplastic cells of invasive carcinomas often lack a continuous basement membrane. In histopathology antibodies to type IV collagen may help to distinguish between non-invasive (benign or in situ) and invasive lesions. Furthermore the antiSerum is important in the differential identification of bullous lesions in dermatopathology.

Product Notes

The Collagen IV (Catalog #AAA573001) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Collagen IV reacts with Bovine, Human, Rat, Swine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Collagen IV can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (IHC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (frozen), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (paraffin), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Collagen IV for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Collagen IV, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
