Goat Clusterin/ApoJ Polyclonal Antibody | anti-Clu antibody
Goat anti-Clusterin/ApoJ (mouse, aa312-325) Antibody
Western Blot: Approx 37kDa band observed in Mouse and Rat Testis lysates (calculated MW of 51.7kDa according to NP_038520.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Miyata et al, Circulation.2001 Sep 18;104(12): 1407-12.; PMID: 11560857). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a secreted chaperone that can, under some stress conditions, also be found in the cell cytosol. It has been suggested to be involved in several basic biological events such as cell death, tumor progression, and neurodegenerative disorders. The encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a disulfide-linked heterodimeric mature protein comprised of alpha and beta subunits. Mice lacking the encoded protein exhibit increased severity of autoimmune myocarditis, faster progression of the acute inflammation to myocardial scarring and decreased brain injury following neonatal hypoxic-ischemic injury. Uniprot Description
CLU: Isoform 1 functions as extracellular chaperone that prevents aggregation of nonnative proteins. Prevents stress- induced aggregation of blood plasma proteins. Inhibits formation of amyloid fibrils by APP, APOC2, B2M, CALCA, CSN3, SNCA and aggregation-prone LYZ variants (in vitro). Does not require ATP. Maintains partially unfolded proteins in a state appropriate for subsequent refolding by other chaperones, such as HSPA8/HSC70. Does not refold proteins by itself. Binding to cell surface receptors triggers internalization of the chaperone-client complex and subsequent lysosomal or proteasomal degradation. Secreted isoform 1 protects cells against apoptosis and against cytolysis by complement. Intracellular isoforms interact with ubiquitin and SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes and promote the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Promotes proteasomal degradation of COMMD1 and IKBKB. Modulates NF-kappa-B transcriptional activity. Nuclear isoforms promote apoptosis. Mitochondrial isoforms suppress BAX-dependent release of cytochrome c into the cytoplasm and inhibit apoptosis. Plays a role in the regulation of cell proliferation. Belongs to the clusterin family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

The Goat anti-Clusterin/ApoJ (mouse, aa312-325) Antibody reacts with Tested: Mouse, Rat; Expected from sequence similarity: Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Clusterin/ApoJ can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 8000. Western Blot: Approx 37kDa band observed in Mouse and Rat Testis lysates (calculated MW of 51.7kDa according to NP_038520.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Miyata et al, Circulation.2001 Sep 18;104(12): 1407-12.; PMID: 11560857). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Clu clu for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: CSTNNPAQAN LRQE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Clusterin/ApoJ, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
