Related Product Information for anti-CLPP antibody
Function: Protease component of the Clp complex that cleaves peptides and various proteins in an ATP-dependent process. Has low peptidase activity in the absence of CLPX. The Clp complex can degrade CSN1S1, CSN2 and CSN3, as well as synthetic peptides (in vitro) and may be responsible for a fairly general and central housekeeping function rather than for the degradation of specific substrates.
Subunit Structure: Fourteen CLPP subunits assemble into 2 heptameric rings which stack back to back to give a disk-like structure with a central cavity. Component of the Clp complex formed by the assembly of two CLPP heptameric rings with two CLPX hexameric rings, giving rise to a symmetrical structure with two central CLPP rings flanked by a CLPX ring at either end of the complex.
Similarity: Belongs to the peptidase S14 family.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the peptidase family S14 and hydrolyzes proteins into small peptides in the presence of ATP and magnesium. The protein is transported into mitochondrial matrix and is associated with the inner mitochondrial membrane. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Protease component of the Clp complex that cleaves peptides and various proteins in an ATP-dependent process. Has low peptidase activity in the absence of CLPX. The Clp complex can degrade CSN1S1, CSN2 and CSN3, as well as synthetic peptides (in vitro) and may be responsible for a fairly general and central housekeeping function rather than for the degradation of specific substrates.

Product Notes

The CLPP clpp (Catalog #AAA9608801) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CLPP Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CLPP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:1000-3000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CLPP clpp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CLPP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
