Related Product Information for anti-CD91 antibody
Musashi1 (Msi1) is an RNA-binding protein expressed in neural progenitor cells and neural stem cells. Msi1 is the mammalian homolog of Drosophila Musashi. The gene encoding human Msi1 encodes a 362 amino acid protein. In murine embryonic neural progenitor cells, Msi1 localizes to the cytoplasm and is downregulated during differentiation. Msi1 binds to NUMB, which encodes a membrane-associated antagonist of Notch signaling. Msi1 appears to function in the proliferation and maintenance of stem cell populations of the central nervous system. In addition to its usefulness as a marker for neural progenitor cells in normal human brains, Msi1 is also a marker for human gliomas. In rats, Msi1 is expressed in Sertoli cells of the testis and granulosa cells of the ovary.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an endocytic receptor involved in several cellular processes, including intracellular signaling, lipid homeostasis, and clearance of apoptotic cells. In addition, the encoded protein is necessary for the A2M-mediated clearance of secreted amyloid precursor protein and beta-amyloid, the main component of amyloid plaques found in Alzheimer patients. Expression of this gene decreases with age and has been found to be lower than controls in brain tissue from Alzheimer patients. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]

Uniprot Description

LRP1: a receptor involved in endocytosis, phagocytosis of apoptotic cells, and neural signaling. Modulates cellular events including APP metabolism, kinase-dependent intracellular signaling, neuronal calcium signaling and neurotransmission. Involved in the plasma clearance of chylomicron remnants and activated alpha 2-macroglobulin, as well as the local metabolism of complexes between plasminogen activators and their endogenous inhibitors. Plays a fundamental role in cellular signaling pathways in the brain. Mediates neural NMDA gating via a complex of LRP1, PSD-95 and NMDAR. A type I membrane protein. After cleavage, the intracellular domain (LRPICD) is detected both in the cytoplasm and in the nucleus. Most abundant in liver, brain and lung.

Product Notes

The CD91 lrp1 (Catalog #AAA3015072) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD91 (Phospho-S4520) polyclonal antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD91 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500~1:1000 IHC: 1:50~1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD91 lrp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD91, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
