Related Product Information for anti-CD31/PECAM-1 antibody
PECAM is transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the Ig-related superfamily of adhesion molecules. It is highly expressed at endothelial cell junctions, and also expressed in platelets and in most leukocyte sub-types. The primary function of PECAM-1 is the mediation of leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction. PECAM-1 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various inflammation related disorders, including thrombosis, multiple sclerosis (MS), and rheumatoid arthritis. The human PECAM-1 gene codes for a 738 amino acid transmembrane glycoprotein containing a 118 amino acid cytoplasmic domain, a 19 amino acid transmembrane domain, and a 574 amino acid extracellular domain. Recombinant human PECAM-1 is a 572 amino acid glycoprotein comprising the extracellular domain of PECAM-1. Monomeric glycosylated PECAM-1 migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 80.0-95.0 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing conditions. The calculated molecular weight of recombinant human PECAM-1 is 64.3 kDa.

Uniprot Description

PECAM-1: a cell adhesion molecule expressed on platelets and at endothelial cell intercellular junctions. Plays a role in modulation of integrin-mediated cell adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, cell migration, negative regulation of immune cell signaling, autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, IgE-mediated anaphylaxis and thrombosis. Undergoes alternative splicing, generating multiple isoforms in vascular beds of various tissues.

Product Notes

The CD31/PECAM-1 pecam1 (Catalog #AAA692250) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Anti-Human CD31/PECAM-1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD31/PECAM-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytommetry (FC). WB: Use at 1-5 ?g/ml IF:Use at 2-10 ?g/ml IF/IHC: Use at 1-5 ?g/ml FC: Use at 2-10?g/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD31/PECAM-1 pecam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD31/PECAM-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
