Specificity
This item recognises CD294, also known as chemoattractant receptor homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells (CRTH2) and GRP44.

CD294 is a G protein-coupled receptor which has a high affinity for prostaglandin D2 (PGD2).

CD294 is predominantly expressed on Th2 cells, basophils and eosinophils, and its activation by PDG2 mediates chemotaxis of these cells to inflammatory sites. CD294 may be a useful marker for Th2 cells, and enhances their function and signalling with a possible role in Th2 cell differentiation.

PGD2 is thought to contribute to bronchoconstriction, eosinophilia and mucus production in allergic asthma, and CD294 may contribute to this disease.

Perservative Stabilisers
0.02% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to an 18 amino acid sequence from near the amino terminus of human CD294 - KLH conjugated.
Histology Positive Control Tissue
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human CD294 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 12 months from date of despatch.

Uniprot Description

GPR44: Receptor for prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). Coupled to the G(i)-protein. Receptor activation may result in pertussis toxin- sensitive decreases in cAMP levels and Ca(2+) mobilization. PI3K signaling is also implicated in mediating PTGDR2 effects. PGD2 induced receptor internalization. CRTH2 internalization can be regulated by diverse kinases such as, PKC, PKA, ADRBK1/GRK2, GPRK5/GRK5 and GRK6. Receptor activation is responsible, at least in part, in immune regulation and allergic/inflammation responses. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Product Notes

The CD294 ptgdr2 (Catalog #AAA224236) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI HUMAN CD294 (N-TERMINAL) reacts with Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD294 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). Immunohistology: This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e.g. trypsin or pronase. This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD294 ptgdr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD294, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
