Related Product Information for anti-CD169 antibody
This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein is a lectin-like adhesion molecule that binds glycoconjugate ligands on cell surfaces in a sialic acid-dependent manner. It is a type I transmembrane protein expressed only by a subpopulation of macrophages and is involved in mediating cell-cell interactions. Alternative splicing produces a transcript variant encoding an isoform that is soluble rather than membrane-bound; however, the full-length nature of this variant has not been determined.SIGLEC1 (Sialic Acid Binding Ig Like Lectin 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with SIGLEC1 include Proliferative Glomerulonephritis and Diffuse Cutaneous Systemic Sclerosis. Among its related pathways are Immunoregulatory interactions between a Lymphoid and a non-Lymphoid cell and Innate Immune System. GO annotations related to this gene include carbohydrate binding. An important paralog of this gene is CD22.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein is a lectin-like adhesion molecule that binds glycoconjugate ligands on cell surfaces in a sialic acid-dependent manner. It is a type I transmembrane protein expressed only by a subpopulation of macrophages and is involved in mediating cell-cell interactions. Alternative splicing produces a transcript variant encoding an isoform that is soluble rather than membrane-bound; however, the full-length nature of this variant has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Acts as an endocytic receptor mediating clathrin dependent endocytosis. Macrophage-restricted adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to lymphocytes, including granulocytes, monocytes, natural killer cells, B-cells and CD8 T-cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3-linked sialic acid (). Binds to SPN/CD43 on T-cells (). May play a role in hemopoiesis.

Product Notes

The CD169 siglec1 (Catalog #AAA2556181) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD169 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD169 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:200-1:800. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD169 siglec1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD169, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
