Related Product Information for anti-CCL8 antibody
This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The protein encoded by this gene is structurally related to the CXC subfamily of cytokines. Members of this subfamily are characterized by two cysteines separated by a single amino acid. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. By recruiting leukocytes to sites of inflammation this cytokine may contribute to tumor-associated leukocyte infiltration and to the antiviral state against HIV infection. [

NCBI Description

This antimicrobial gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. By recruiting leukocytes to sites of inflammation this cytokine may contribute to tumor-associated leukocyte infiltration and to the antiviral state against HIV infection. Uniprot Description

CCL8: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. May play a role in neoplasia and inflammatory host responses. This protein can bind heparin. The processed form MCP-2(6-76) does not show monocyte chemotactic activity, but inhibits the chemotactic effect most predominantly of CCL7, and also of CCL2 and CCL5 and CCL8. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted; Chemokine; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q11.2

Cellular Component: extracellular space

Molecular Function: heparin binding; chemokine activity; phospholipase activator activity; protein kinase activity

Biological Process: cellular calcium ion homeostasis; positive regulation of catalytic activity; exocytosis; cell-cell signaling; response to virus; calcium ion transport; immune response; signal transduction; inflammatory response; chemotaxis; protein amino acid phosphorylation

Product Notes

The CCL8 ccl8 (Catalog #AAA9406362) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CCL8 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CCL8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western blotting: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CCL8 ccl8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CCL8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
