Related Product Information for anti-CCL4 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for C-C motif chemokine 4(CCL4) detection. Tested with WB, ELISA in Human.

Background: Chemokine(C-C motif) ligand 4, also known as CCL4, is a protein which in human is encoded by the CCL4 gene. By analysis of somatic cell hybrids and by in situ hybridization, the CCL4 gene was assigned to 17q21-q23. It is a CC chemokine with specificity for CCR5 receptors. And it is a chemoattractant for natural killer cells, monocytes and a variety of other immune cells. CCL4 is a major HIV-suppressive factor produced by CD8+ T cells. Performing-low memory CD8+ T cells that normally synthesize CCL4. Based on functional analysis of CCL4, one or more additional beta chemokine receptors that transduce CCL4 signals must also exist. MIP-1alpha and CCL4 have been shown to lack affinity for the erythrocyte surface chemokine receptor/Duffy antigen that binds many alpha as well as beta chemokines(11, 14).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a mitogen-inducible monokine and is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. The encoded protein is secreted and has chemokinetic and inflammatory functions. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2012]

Uniprot Description

CCL4: Monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. Binds to CCR5. One of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-beta induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). The processed form MIP-1-beta(3-69) retains the abilities to induce down-modulation of surface expression of the chemokine receptor CCR5 and to inhibit the CCR5- mediated entry of HIV-1 in T-cells. MIP-1-beta(3-69) is also a ligand for CCR1 and CCR2 isoform B. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The CCL4 ccl4 (Catalog #AAA177725) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CCL4 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CCL4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Western Blot Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CCL4 ccl4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CCL4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
