NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an essential regulator of mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake under basal conditions. The encoded protein interacts with the mitochondrial calcium uniporter, a mitochondrial inner membrane Ca2+ channel, and is essential in preventing mitochondrial Ca2+ overload, which can cause excessive production of reactive oxygen species and cell stress. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2013]
Uniprot Description
MICU1: Key regulator of mitochondrial calcium uptake required for calcium entry into mitochondrion. May act as a calcium sensor via its EF-hand domains, gating the activity of a calcium channel partner. Induces T-helper 1-mediated autoreactivity, which is accompanied by the release of IFNG. Belongs to the MICU1 family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The CBAA1 micu1 (Catalog #AAA6281090) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CBAA1, NT (MICU1, CALC, CBARA1, Calcium uptake protein 1, mitochondrial, Atopy-related autoantigen CALC, Calcium-binding atopy-related autoantigen 1, Allergen=Hom s 4) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CBAA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CBAA1 micu1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CBAA1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
