NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein and member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family of proteins. Expression of this gene may be downregulated in colon and rectal cancer. Additionally, lower expression levels of this gene may be predictive of rectal cancer recurrence. This gene is present in a CEA family gene cluster on chromosome 19. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]

Uniprot Description

CEACAM7: Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. CEA family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor; Immunoglobulin superfamily; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Product Notes

The CEACAM7 ceacam7 (Catalog #AAA611003) is an Antibody produced from Chicken and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Carcinoembryonic Antigen CGM2 (CEACGM2) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Carcinoembryonic Antigen CGM2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CEACAM7 ceacam7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Carcinoembryonic Antigen CGM2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
