Related Product Information for anti-JUN antibody
Rabbit anti c-Jun (pSer243) antibody recognizes proto-oncogene c-Jun, also known as V-jun avian sarcoma virus 17 oncogene homolog and p39, when phosphorylated at threonine 243.

c-Jun is a member of the Jun family of transcription factors and is a subunit of the AP-1 transcription factor. c-Jun dimerizes with c-Fos, JDP and ATF family members to form the AP-1 transcription factor. AP-1 is activated by a variety of stimuli including cytokines, stress and growth factors and plays a critical role in cellular processes ranging from proliferation to apoptosis.

The kinase that phosphorylates c-Jun at serine in vivo is unidentified. PP2B dephosphorylates c-Jun at serine 243 (Chen et al. 2007). c-Jun has been implicated in early tumor development, invasion and metastasis (Vleugel et al. 2006).

NCBI Description

This gene is the putative transforming gene of avian sarcoma virus 17. It encodes a protein which is highly similar to the viral protein, and which interacts directly with specific target DNA sequences to regulate gene expression. This gene is intronless and is mapped to 1p32-p31, a chromosomal region involved in both translocations and deletions in human malignancies. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Transcription factor that recognizes and binds to the enhancer heptamer motif 5'-TGA[CG]TCA-3'. Promotes activity of NR5A1 when phosphorylated by HIPK3 leading to increased steroidogenic gene expression upon cAMP signaling pathway stimulation. Involved in activated KRAS-mediated transcriptional activation of USP28 in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells (PubMed:24623306). Binds to the USP28 promoter in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells (PubMed:24623306).

Product Notes

The JUN jun (Catalog #AAA225214) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti c-Jun (pSer243) reacts with Mouse N.B. Antibody reactivity and working conditions may vary between species. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's c-Jun can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000 Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarilyexclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It isrecommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriatenegative/positive controls. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the JUN jun for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "c-Jun, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
