Related Product Information for anti-FES antibody
Tyrosine-protein kinase that acts downstream of cell surface receptors and plays a role in the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton, microtubule assembly, cell attachment and cell spreading. Plays a role in FCER1 (high affinity immunoglobulin epsilon receptor)-mediated signaling in mast cells. Acts down- stream of the activated FCER1 receptor and the mast/stem cell growth factor receptor KIT. Plays a role in the regulation of mast cell degranulation. Plays a role in the regulation of cell differentiation and promotes neurite outgrowth in response to NGF signaling. Plays a role in cell scattering and cell migration in response to HGF-induced activation of EZR. Phosphorylates BCR and down-regulates BCR kinase activity. Phosphorylates HCLS1/HS1, PECAM1, STAT3 and TRIM28.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the human cellular counterpart of a feline sarcoma retrovirus protein with transforming capabilities. The gene product has tyrosine-specific protein kinase activity and that activity is required for maintenance of cellular transformation. Its chromosomal location has linked it to a specific translocation event identified in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia but it is also involved in normal hematopoiesis as well as growth factor and cytokine receptor signaling. Alternative splicing results in multiple variants encoding different isoforms.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]

Uniprot Description

Fes: a non-receptor tyrosine kinase of the Fer family. Appears to be involved in normal hematopoiesis as well as the development of acute promyelocytic leukemia. Contains one SH2 and one FCH domain. Four LOF point mutations seen in colorectal cancer. Orthologous to v-fes from feline leukemia virus and v-fps from avian transforming virus. Mutant forms are angiogenic. Promotes survival during differentiation, and may act both to promote and inhibit tumors. May be disrupted in the t(15q+;17q-) found in acute promyelocytic leukemia, but the breakpoint does not occur within the gene.

Product Notes

The FES fes (Catalog #AAA9216392) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The c-FER Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's c-FER can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB ~~ 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FES fes for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "c-FER, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
