Related Product Information for anti-ATAD3A antibody
ATAD3A is a member of the AAA ATPase family, a family of proteins that catalyze ATP into ADP and are involved in several cellular functions such as cell-cycle regulation, protein proteolysis and transport. The AAA ATPase family is characterized by a highly conserved AAA motif containing Walker homology sequences and imparting ATPase activity. Mitochondrial membrane proteins ATAD3A/B contribute to the stabilization of nucleoids and may participate in the transformation pathway and the chemosensitivity of oligodendrogliomas. The gene encoding ATAD3A/B/C maps to human chromosome 1 and has been suggested to be an anti-apoptotic marker.

NCBI Description

ATAD3A and ATAD3B (MIM 612317) are mitochondrial membrane proteins that contribute to the stabilization of large mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-protein complexes called nucleoids (He et al., 2007 [PubMed 17210950]).[supplied by OMIM, Sep 2008]

Uniprot Description

ATAD3A: Essential for mitochondrial network organization, mitochondrial metabolism and cell growth at organism and cellular level. May play an important in mitochondrial protein synthesis. May also participate in mitochondrial DNA replication. May bind to mitochondrial DNA D-loops and contribute to nucleoid stability. Required for enhanced channeling of cholesterol for hormone- dependent steroidogenesis. Belongs to the AAA ATPase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Mitochondrial

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.33

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; mitochondrial inner membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: ATP binding

Biological Process: cell growth; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The ATAD3A atad3a (Catalog #AAA9410518) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATAD3A Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATAD3A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATAD3A atad3a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATAD3A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
