Related Product Information for anti-AHR antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AHR) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Mouse.
Background: AHR(aryl hydrocarbon receptor), also called bHLHe76, is a member of the family of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors. AhR is a cytosolic transcription factor that is normally inactive, bound to several co-chaperones. The AHR gene is mapped on 7p21.1. Estrogenic actions of AHR agonists were detected in wildtype ovariectomized mouse uteri, but were absent in Ahr -/- or Er-alpha -/- ovariectomized mice. Complex assembly and ubiquitin ligase activity of CUL4B(AHR) in vitro and in vivo are dependent on the AHR ligand. In the CUL4B(AHR) complex, ligand-activated AHR acts as a substrate-specific adaptor component that targets sex steroid receptors for degradation. Cd4-positive cells from mice lacking Ahr developed Th17 responses but failed to produce Il22 and did not show enhanced Th17 development. Activation of Ahr during induction of EAE accelerated disease onset and increased pathology in wildtype mice, but not in Ahr -/- mice. The TDO-AHR pathway is active in human brain tumors and is associated with malignant progression and poor survival. Ahr activity within ROR-gamma-t-positive ILC could be induced by dietary ligands such as those contained in vegetables of the family Brassicaceae.

Uniprot Description

AHR: a nuclear receptor for aryl hydrocarbons involved in xenobiotic metabolism, cell cycle regulation, and development in response to both endogenous and environmental signals. AhR was initially identified as a receptor for dioxins, which are environmental pollutants generated by waste incineration and other industrial processes . AhR ligands include polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, including the carcinogen benzo(a)pyrene and other components of cigarette smoke. Naturally occurring AhR ligands include flavonoids, which are aromatic plant secondary compounds commonly found in vegetables and fruits. Cytoplasmic aryl hydrocarbon receptors are found in protein complexes with heat shock proteins. Upon ligand binding, AhR dissociates from heat shock proteins and translocate to the nucleus where it dimerizes with AhR nuclear translocator (ARNT, HIF-1b). The AhR/ARNT heterodimer binds to nuclear xenobiotic response elements to control the expression of genes associated with xenobiotic metabolism, including several cytochrome P450 genes. AhR is ubiquitously expressed and is thought to play a role in regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation, cytokine expression, and xenobiotic metabolism. Research studies link AhR activity with the control of regulatory T-cell and T-helper 17 cell differentiation, regulation of the inflammatory response, and the onset of lung cancer.

Product Notes

The AHR ahr (Catalog #AAA176885) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Aryl hydrocarbon Receptor antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aryl hydrocarbon Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin. WB: (Concentration) 0.1-0.5ug/ml IHC-P: (Concentration) 0.5-1ug/ml; (Antigen Retrieval) By Heat Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive test results. Predicted Species: Species predicted to be fit for the product based on sequence similarities. By Heat: Boiling the paraffin ssections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal diluions should be determined by end users. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AHR ahr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aryl hydrocarbon Receptor, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
