NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the ARID (AT-rich interaction domain) family of DNA binding proteins. It was found by homology to the Drosophila dead ringer gene, which is important for normal embryogenesis. Other ARID family members have roles in embryonic patterning, cell lineage gene regulation, cell cycle control, transcriptional regulation, and possibly in chromatin structure modification. Uniprot Description
Bright: a member of the ARID (AT-rich interaction domain) family of transcription factors. It was found by its homology to the Drosophila dead ringer protein, which is important for normal embryogenesis. Binds a VH promoter proximal site necessary for induced mu-heavy-chain transcription. Binds the minor groove of a restricted ATC sequence that is sufficient for nuclear matrix association. This sequence motif is present in matrix-associating regions (MARS) proximal to the promoter and flanking E mu. Activates E mu-driven transcription by binding these sites. Contributes to localized control of accessibility and therefore nonrandom gene use during V(D)J recombination.
Protein type: Transcription factor
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3
Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; Golgi apparatus; cytoplasm; nucleolus; lipid raft
Molecular Function: protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; chromatin binding
Biological Process: transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ARID3A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
